I can't believe that we are half way through August already and summer is coming to a close. I love to stamp with the seasons... usually, but I am anxious for Fall and have made a few fall cards.
This past weekend I took a few extra days off work thinking I was going to do some serious stamping... ha. Thursday night I started my pool party card and I did not finish it till last night. I did, however, pull out my sewing machine this weekend (I took sewing lessons for about 3 years when I was younger) and made some fleece pj bottoms for Roni and some Halloween ones for me. I have to admit that my sewing skills are a bit rusty and I forgot that patterns run big... but the pants are made and thank goodness for draw strings. Maybe I can con Roni into modeling her pants and I will post a picture.

Well, here's my pool party card...
Up Close... sorry, it's a little blurry.
I used the new in colors from the 11/12 catalog... the base of the card is Pool Party, then I placed a layer of Island Indigo and the sun is made using the 1 3/4 scallop circle. I stamped the "kids" which are from the summer mini set Sunny Fun using stazon ink on Whisper white and colored them using the incolors. I mounted the "kids" on a piece of Calypso Coral and then made the waves with the scallop edge border. I LOVE how this card turned out. I remember seeing this stamp in the summer mini and being immediately drawn to it so, I bought it and up until this card have not used the set... now I can't wait to use the other 2 larger stamps in the set.
Here's a sneak peak at some of the fun things I've already gotten from the Holiday Mini... can't wait to share :)
Too cute!! I'm so happy you're stampin' again and forging ahead!! YOU GO GIRL!!
